In the summer of 2013, during the time Anthrophobia was in retirement (2007 - 2015), a tribute album was being assembled to pay homage to the legendary band Ruin... Discussions led to the decision to assemble a 'Phobia alumni line-up to record the song 'Twilight'.
The 'original' 1985 'Founding Fathers' members (all big fans of Ruin) Steve Kasper on guitar, Shawn Ganter on drums, Frank Phobia on vocals were all on board, except for original bassist, Jon Starks, whom at the time was non-committal. However, Jon did come hang with us at the studio the day of the recording. The clock was ticking, long time friend, Rob DiJoseph (ex-Little Gentlemen / McRad, etc.) was asked to play bass guitar on the session. Which is ironic, because Rob is still the bassist in Anthrophobia today. Frank's longest running musical partner in the band's history, guitarist Brent Black, joined in to handle the other half of the guitar work. 'Phobia's Dickie Delp rounded out the group playing drums too. (The idea was to use a two drummer assault, to emulate theReUnIoN shows by Ruin which featured both their drummers Richie and Paul). Ruin's music was a major early influence on Anthrophobia in 1985 and it was responsible for bringing the band back together in 2013 to record this song and carry on again after the recording of 'Twilight'. *** The tribute album was never released and this song sat unreleased until now.

Today...Anthrophobia consists of Frank Phobia on vocals, Brent Black on guitar (1999 to current), Dickie Delp (1989 - 2004 + 2015 to current), and Rob DiJoseph on bass (2013 for the recording of Twilight + 2016 to current)

Ruin...
Were a groundbreaking, genre-blending, intelligent, underground hardcore influenced punk and rock band from Philadelphia, PA. They were way ahead of their time and their iconic music holds up to this day. The lineup of Ruin that heavily influenced the original members of Anthrophobia were Vosco Thomas Adams on vocals, Cordy Swope on bass, the Wallis brothers (Damon and Glenn) on guitars, and Richard Hutchins on drums. Paul Della Pelle became the drummer when Hutchins left the band in 1984. All six members played the so-called ReUnIoN shows in 1996, 1997, 2013, and 2016. The band released two full length albums, 'He-Ho' and 'Fiat Lux' both re-issued by Southern Lord Recordings in 2016. Take the time and give a listen. www.ruinrocks.com. I hope we did them justice.
